Last month, Colorado State University’s Pueblo campus hosted the inaugural Rita J. Martinez Youth Leadership Conference. A program that aims to inspire “power in the future,” this conference is all about positive change. Leadership Consultant Dr. Barry Denton shares the details:

There is so much power coming from our youth these days!  That’s exactly what the El Movimiento Sigue Project believes.  This year, Colorado State University’s Pueblo campus welcomed inspiring young leaders to join each other for an opportunity to discuss and embrace Chicano stories, leaders and professionals thriving in the community.  The recent event, Rita J. Martinez Youth Leadership Conference, honors influential educator and champion of social causes close to the Chicano community’s history and culture, Rita J. Martinez.  The day-long event honored Martinez and her incredible impact by echoing the messages and purpose most important to her: advancement of leadership skills and spirit of the youth!
