Leadership Consultant Dr. Barry Denton shares the details of the LEED for Cities certification program, a one-year program that strives to help local governments become organized and set goals that will benefit the community:
So far, 77 local governments have taken a pledge to engage with the LEED program. The program aims to propel cross-agency coordination, integrated budgeting, civic engagement, performance management and economic development in cities across the United States. This has all been made possible by a partnership between USGBC and Bank of America.
Communities engaged in LEED include Nashua, NH, Las Vegas, NV, Miami, FL, Northampton, MA, Costa Mesa, CA and many more. Participation in this leadership program includes the benefits of peer-to-peer networking and collaboration opportunities, leadership development in marketing, communications, conferences, and other community engagement initiatives. All of this is funded by Bank of America, which has currently invested $2.5 million in the program thus far. For more information, please visit the official website for USGBC.
